Oyster Perpetual
Rolex Deepsea

Waterproof to an extreme depth of 3,900 metres (12,800 feet), the Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea illustrates the supremacy of Rolex in mastering waterproofness. Created in 2008, the Rolex Deepsea exceeds the most rigorous demands of professional divers in terms of robustness, precision and reliability, while still featuring the aesthetic codes characteristic of the Oyster.

OYSTER CASE AND RINGLOCK SYSTEM

A new-generation divers’ watch, the Rolex Deepsea benefits from the Rolex-patented Ringlock System case architecture, which allows the watch to resist the colossal pressure exerted by water at the depth of 3,900 metres. This is equivalent to a weight of approximately three tonnes on the crystal.

THE ROLEX DEEPSEA, SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER

Like all Rolex watches, each Rolex Deepsea is certified as a Superlative Chronometer. This exclusive designation affirms that it has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, which exceed normal watchmaking standards. These tests are carried out on the fully assembled watch, in order to guarantee its superlative performance on the wrist.

PERPETUAL CALIBRE 3135

The Rolex Deepsea is equipped with calibre 3135, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Its architecture, manufacturing and innovative features make it singularly precise and reliable. The Rolex Deepsea’s movement will be seen only by certified Rolex watchmakers, yet it is beautifully finished and decorated in keeping with the brand’s uncompromising quality standards.

LEGIBLE AND FUNCTIONAL

Great attention was paid to the legibility of this Professional divers’ watch. The Chromalight hour markers and hands are filled with a luminescent material emitting a long-lasting blue glow – lasting up to two times longer than traditional materials. On the bezel, the zero marker of the graduation, in the form of a triangle, is visible in the dark thanks to a capsule containing the same luminescent material.

Founded by Hans Wilsdorf in 1905, Rolex pioneered the development of the wristwatch and is at the origin of numerous major watchmaking innovations, such as the Oyster, the first waterproof wristwatch, launched in 1926, and the Perpetual rotor self-winding mechanism invented in 1931. Rolex has registered over 400 patents in the course of its history. A truly integrated and independent manufacturing company, Rolex designs, develops and produces in-house all the essential components of its watches, from the casting of the gold alloys to the machining, crafting, assembly and finishing of the movement, case, dial and bracelet. Rolex is also actively involved in supporting the arts, sports, exploration, the spirit of enterprise, and the environment through a broad palette of sponsoring activities, as well as philanthropic programmes.
